VAN BUREN GOLF
Cedars Country Club, is a nine-hole public golf course, constructed and operated by Cedars Country Club, Inc. Opened in 1964, the Club is located in Van Buren's scenic City Park. Cedars was laid out on what could best be described as "extremely, rolling" terrain, with an elevation change of almost 150 feet across the eighty acre site. While sometimes difficult for the "flatland" golfer to adapt to, it does provide beautiful vistas to take in during your round. Greens are Tifdwarf Bermuda and the course is irrigated and a slight rough is maintained year round.
The forward(white) tees play at 2284 yards and are great for older golfers, women and intermediate players. From the middle(blue) tees players get a little tougher layout at 2708 yards, however, for a full test of a players skills, skilled golfers head to the Cedar(back) tees which stretch the course to over 3100 yards. In an 18 hole round playing blue and cedar tees, our course rating is 68.4 and the slope comes in at a respectable 126.
Management of the Club is definitely family oriented, as the Boze Family has operated the Club since 1980.
